Spotlight: Canary Wharf Station, London
London Network Scaffolding Special Projects LTD recently completed an extensive project for their longstanding partner; Telent at London’s Canary Wharf Station.
London Network Scaffolding Special Projects Limited utilised their Layher Protect System for hoarding purposes alongside a larger scaffold erected behind specially designed fireproof sheeting to allow access for the installation of large advertising TV screens at the station.
The main scaffold was erected within the clients schedule over a course of around twenty engineering shifts due to strict time constraints at the station.
“Just wanted to say how pleased I have been with all the guys from start to finish on the Canary Wharf project with regards to the strict Health and Safety procedures you have had to follow on site whilst carrying out your scaffolding works to a tight schedule. I just wanted to say a thank you!” - Anthony Stenhouse (Site Manager)
The Protect System used on the project is designed for use with both Tube and Fitting and System Scaffolds and provides a well proven means of containing noise and dust, with added aesthetic benefits. Featuring a lightweight aluminium frame that is in-filled with either clear plastic sheeting (for visual and natural light), sheet steel or plastic webbing to create a complete ‘skin’ around a structure, both internal and external protection is achieved.
Additionally, the in-filled frames may be sign-written as advertising space for projects. In this case, the Protect System had been used to secure the ground level of the worksite at Canary Wharf Station and allow commercial properties to advertise their businesses.
“Many thanks to all the site lads and management team at LNS for all their great efforts on this project!” - John Salmon (Operations Manager)
